I just wanted to let as many of you as possible know that the ABC’s 4 Corners program is running a follow up story on the hip implant that has caused my deteriorating health over the last 5 years resulting in 5 major surgeries (with my next to come in 10 days’ time), and sadly the deterioration of my quality of life to the point that I am a shell of the person I have previously been.
The Walking Wounded, reported by Quentin McDermott and presented by Kerry O’Brien, goes to air on Monday 26th May at 8.30pm on ABC1. It is replayed on Tuesday 27th May at 11.00am and 11.35pm. It can also be seen on ABC News 24 on Saturday at 8.00pm, ABC iview and at abc.net.au/4corners.
I am very aware that I am far from alone as I have sent this to a number of fellow patients as well and I do wish all of you the very best. The team behind this program have done a great job and I have been honoured to assist them where I can, it will certainly make a few people understand our situation a little better, but the focus of this program is very much on J&J and what they have done, a further program on the human impact is in the works which I am sure that some of us will get the opportunity to discuss our own experiences.
Please tune into this and can I also beg you to pass this message on to as many people as you can as this has been an important program in showing the extent of what has been done to us and very sadly how a ‘trusted’ medical company has deceived those that their own mission statement (they call it ‘Our Credo’) says are most important to them.
Thank you all for your support over the time for my family and I and I hope that this helps answer the one question I am asked most which is: “How can this happen here in Australia?”.
Please let me know what you all think and as I said, Tell Your Friends!!
If you are outside of Australia you will be able to see it on the Web after a day or two – here
