Queen’s Birthday Monday – more time with anger management – finished off the section on Current Issues with My Hip – loads of information and it is clear that I do have a fully Cobalt Chrome total hip replacement (THR) and no wonder I am having the health issues and pain.
Reading all the literature it seem I am amongst those “elite few percent” who have had problems with metal ion poisoning of my hip tissue and femur – still don’t know if the acetabular cup area is affected – why not go for the trifecta!
Anyway, I have gone some way towards documenting my experience and putting together a lot of useful information which may aid others in a similar position.
I will continue to add to this – the sections on cobalt and chrome poisoning are sure to be fascinating – pity I am one of those involved.
Cheers
I am soooo sorry you are going through this! I am 33 years old and just had a hip replacement about two weeks ago. I received an Smith and Nephew Oxinium implant.
I really do wish you the best and hope you receive the correct treatment this time around. It sounds like you have had a horrible time I can’t even begin to understand your frustration!
Hi Christina – well I am twenty years older & so I think you have it much worse than me!
If you send me you story I would love to add it to the Blog – so we can all understand that we are NOT alone!
All the best,
Earl
