Hi
Letting you know my husband was 32 when had asr.
He had severe pain and they didn’t know what was wrong.
2009 they opened him up and he had severe metalossis.
This revision dislocated twice leading to another revision wirhin six months all up third thr.
After this he had a fall and another dislocation with infections as well.
Then constant pain again and different opinion from a great surgeon.
Again opening him up he had severe infection in the stem bone.
He was left without a hip for six months on iv antibiotics. Jan 2011 he got his fourth hip in.
All within four years.
He has only returned to work six months ago.
We nearlly lost our house, financialy unstable and he missed out playing with his two young children.
Emotionally draining and horrible watching him in constant pain.

Hi Belinda, Wow what a time you and your family have been through, I was at least 37 when I got my ASR! Where are you guys? I hope that your husband is doing better now, as you have proven what my wife has always told me: ‘that there is always someone else out there worse off than you’. I would like to hear more about this and encourage you or your husband if you feel up to it to tell us all a bit more about what happened, I hope to god you are involved in a legal case after everything the ASR put you through and please remember we are all here for you, we may not have gone through what you and your family have, but we certainly understand and empathise more than most. Thank you so much for sharing with us and please let me know if there is anything I can do to advise or simply to listen to your story. Your hip brother, Stu Cain
