Yesterday was a busy day – revamped my entire site and described the events leading up to the total replacement of my right hip.
Today
Today I will take you through the hip operation, the complications and the events subsequent.
I will then start to highlight how my experience with a Smith & Nephew Cobalt Chrome total hip replacement is remarkably similar to those who have had the worldwide problem with the DePuy hip replacements.
There is a huge amount of information available and my intention is to start to bring it all together in one easy location.

I am about to have a revision of my right hip done 3 years ago – a total metal on metal Birmingham Spectron from Smith & Nephew.
This time I will be Mr Conservative and it will be ceramic on ceramic also from Smith & Nephew – I think a lot of my issues stem from the surgeon I had & metal sensitivity – I have quite a big auto-immune issue anyway, just to complicate it further!
Then the left hip will get its first replacement later in the year – going to be a fun second half of the year – 3 hip replacements in 3 years!
